Family and Friends
In 2022 I began to concentrate more on portraiture. I was most interested in developing a fairly naturalistic style of representation with drawing and painting. My subjects are exclusively my family and my friends. These continue to be the people who I find most inspiring because I know them very well and I am directly connected to them. This makes the process of my portraiture a very personal and reflective practice.
2021 – Connecting Through Spaces
The paintings and drawings in this portfolio convey a memory or moment in time for specific people. Artworks are often composed as an arrangement of separate canvas panels where one panel is a portrait and this hangs beside another panel which is the image or symbol of a memory. The viewer is likely to construct meaning through an action of making mental connections between the panels.
