My creativity is a shared experience
I recently learned something important about myself as an artist and my ongoing mental struggle to be more creative today than I was yesterday. I learned that if I reject the rational humanistic mindset that “I” alone am the source of my creativity, I open myself to a new way of thinking about the work I produce. I can begin to understand that the artistic creations of my being don’t come solely from within, but as a shared responsibility and as a result of my connectivity with all of life. Rather than struggle with my expectations of the results of my work, I can concentrate on what I most love to do; to paint. If I can feel this way, I have learned that the more I connect and embrace others in all of life, the more I ultimately invest in my own wellbeing and creativity.
