Sharing a Spiritual Journey

The first idea that emerged for this group of paintings was that of “the seeker”. It inspired visions of one’s personal journey on a spiritual path to discover that indefinable power that will help us feel complete, whole and no longer lacking. The seeker, by its very nature, commences its journey from a place of desire recognising that there exists within itself a void that craves to be filled. Each seeker starts from this point and is drawn towards that which is outside of itself and not known yet known.
On one level, this group of paintings illustrate the personal journey that each seeker embarks on. On another, it suggests that we are all seeking to satisfy that nebulous void within our own desiring self. As a collective, each seeker is on a pilgrimage; all journeying in a direction towards a place that we believe will satisfy our hard to explain desire for fulfilment or completion.
While the path that each seeker journeys (a soul path) may be innate in all beings, we each walk it differently and share it with others in our own way. We learn from those around us and we aspire to assimilate the knowledge that will not only satisfy our understanding of the purpose and destination of the path, but will enable us to develop a sense of achievement and positivity
